FRIDAY September 28th
$10 - 8pm
Sludge ensemble YARNSPINNER, have been around for a couple of years now based in the swampy lands of Christchurch and are in the midst of recording their debut album. Known for their oddly low tunings and groovy riffs, spinning a yarn is always a good time. This is their first excursion to the North Island and are looking forward to bringing the riffs.
OPIUM EATER released their album ENNUI in the later months of 2017 and have been hailed by music blogs as being "absorbing, animated, and emotionally rewarding". One of the standout live acts out of New Zealand in the last few years.
Based out Palmerston North, DICK TRACY features hard rock roots, repetitive melodic phrasing, extensive vamping, blues influences, a vocal-centric aesthetic and ultimately embodies the anything-goes spirit of classic rock with their heavy stoner-influenced grooves.
ELIM. A cacophony of sorts. Born from a mutual appreciation of semi-overlapping musical genres and styles. Some of the songs make complete sense while others are like Jackson Pollock got a hold of a guitar, a bass and some drums, and mindlessly splattered notes on a stave - and that’s ok man!
FRIDAY September 28th
Palmerston Norths own DICK TRACY return to their home town at the climax of their self-titled album release tour to finish off where they started.
Accompanying the line up will be local up'n comers SKITZ HYDRO whom continue to fan a flame to Stoner Rock among a younger generation.
Also, joining the line up is possibly the longest standing local act in Palmerston North history, TURBOSTILL. 18 years and still pumping out bangers, everyone knows the 3-piece and never bore of the heavy riffing 'Whiskey'N Roll'.
DICK TRACY 'self-titled' album is available for stream on: Spotify & Apple Music and available for digital download at: https://dicktracynz.bandcamp.com/releases & www.dicktracy.co.nz
The show will be a KOHA at the door to help pay the venue for power and their time, as well as to the bands for their time and hard work, so please give as you feel is owed.
SNAILS is an art space and not a bar, however message us for any questions regarding drinking etiquette at the venue.
PLEASE SHARE EVENT WHERE POSSIBLE TO SUPPORT, THANK YOU xo
